Update March 1, 2024

After Oct. 7, 2023, Nes Ammim Israel allowed all volunteers to return safely to their home counties. Months later, it is now 2024, Nes Ammim has decided that volunteers are welcome again to help build the community.

These are challenging times in Israel. Especially now, the country, the people and our village need you to step up. Without a living community in the village, Nes Ammim is without a soul. Moreover, after months there is much work to do inside and outside Nes Ammim. Your contribution makes all the difference. Note: Nes Ammim is located in an area -classified by authorities- at risk. Therefore, we have taken additional measures and have different requirements for volunteers. Contact HRM for more information at hrm@nesammim.com.

Starting in August 2024, Nes Ammim will also once again open its doors to young people (individuals or group) who are interested in committing to our community for a year or more and participating in the study program. Nes Ammim Israel Reopens for short strayers, willing to rebuild the community and support Nes Ammim.

We are glad to share the news that after careful consideration of the current situation, Nes Ammim Israel is reopening its doors.

Until further notice Nes Ammim Israel has suspended all its activities for the next coming weeks:

The November celebrations for the 60^th anniversary of Nes Ammim in Israel have all been cancelled. In due course we will see what is possible in 2024.

No volunteers can be hosted in Nes Ammim. All accepted volunteers, pending candidates and new applicants are requested to wait for further advice. If you have any questions, please contact hrm@nesammim.com. 

It is unclear whether the Explorer Programs can start in January and/or February. All those interested and those who have signed up, keep an eye on the website and social media for more information. 

No visitors in the village can be hosted at this time. For bookings already made and/or new inquiries for bookings, please contact the Village Manager, vs@nesammim.com.

Update situation

Unfortunately, due to the terrible situation, it’s hardly possible to do any work in Nes Ammim. What will happen in the coming days and weeks is very uncertain. On Thursday we made the difficult decision to let all European staff and volunteers go back to their home countries. As of Thursday, they all left. Local staff are still there to do only necessary work. We hope and pray for peace and an end to the violence. And we ask everyone to join us in prayer for people effected by this war. We think especially of the people we live and work with in Nes Ammim and the Western Galilee. It’s our deep conviction that putting an end to violence is the first requirement on the road to a just and durable peace. Whenever the opportunity comes, we will return to Nes Ammim to build together on this shared future!
